Advice
on how to use drugs
An important part of harm reduction is to give advice on how to use
drugs. There are some people who consider this sort of advice to be encouraging
the use of illegal drugs. They are generally people who support the regime
of prohibition and consider ignorance to be a weapon in that policy. The
result of such stupidity is to put the users of such substances at far
greater risk than need be the case, yet these are the very people the policy
of prohibition is supposed to protect.
Drug use - of whatever nature - will always be dangerous to some extent
or other, however most problems are avoidable with some very basic knowledge.
True harm reduction is almost certainly impossibe whilst these substances
remain illegal, but that would require a major change of policy by the
government and as of now, that seems unlikely.
So before you mail me to complain,
read and understand the section below in red, also read the disclaimer.
This is not intended to encourage use, rather
to raise awareness of the potential dangers of drug use and thereby an
awareness of how to avoid those dangers. This information is based on that
given out by Release in London and other sources.
